How cute is that!? She used about a thousand craft sticks (okay a bit of an exaggeration) and made a park. See the girl sitting on the park bench and she stood the tree up with a craft stick and LOTS of tape, and made soccer goals with the sticks too. And the field is my favorite kind of field - the kind that says, "I love you" all over it! But then that got me to thinking...
If my daughter can pull this off and be this inventive in first grade, I think I am off the hook when she has to do the dreaded diorama (yes, I had to spell check how to spell diorama because I have honestly never had to spell that word) projects later on in school. What do you think!? I can get her a bunch of art supplies and just turn the kid loose! I am very impressed. So, yes, this is a proud mommy post. I think she is very creative and I love her and am so proud of her.
The whole diorama thought got me thinking though. Who the heck ever made up that whole stupid concept? And really, I think they were having a bad day on the trot when they thought up the idea too. Because the name just sounds like diarrhea, and when you think about it, a diorama IS just a bunch of CRAP thrown on a board or whatever. There is my thought for the day.
On that note, have a great day!:)

How cute! She is very creative. The hardest thing for me is not to do Alex's projects for him. So, good for you for letting her do it...and also in the future.
oh what a cutie! Seems like you have a sweetheart on your hands!
Hey hot pants, I love to read your blogs. I'm glad our daughter got your creative genes. I love you!
Okay I read the anonymous thing "Hot Pants" and totally got FREAKED out until I realized it said, "our daughter," whew..... I wanted to call and tell you to hurry some intruder was on your blog!!
That really is creative. What a smart girl! She looks so pretty holding the picture up! I bet it made her day that you wanted to take a picture of her with it!
That is so awesome. I love it when kids make "special surprises".
So creative! That was a great surprise! You never know what you are going to get when you hear those words "I'm making you a surprise". I'm terrible-I start thinking of creative ways of disposing of it ;). How pathetic am I?
BTW, I don't remember doing dioramas in school. Hmmmm....
