A Trip Down Memory Lane...

Okay, I have seen this on Jamie's blog and on Stephanie's blog (both in the last day), so I think I better play along...

So, what you do is you leave a comment with a memory of me (or someone in my family.) It can be serious, an embarrassing moment, whatever you feel like writing. Then I will assume that you are playing along with the little "Memory Game" and I will come over to your blog and leave a memory of you on your comments as well.

If you feel like playing along, post these same instructions on your blog and keep the memories going. I think it will be fun to see what happens and to find out what silly memories people come up with.

Let the games begin...

Okay I've probably told you this 1,000 times!! Here's 1,001...

I remember the first time I saw you you were giving a talk! I thought you were absolutely GORGEOUS. And I thought, "Oh she would never be my friend," she's too gorgeous! Then that same day you came and complimented my HAIR! It totally brightened my day because I think I was having a bad hair day that day....You have an amazing way of making people feel happy.

The next memory is when you brought me CHOCOLATE for your first VT visit. You were a friend for life then!!

I remember how you brought me a meal (you said you had a lot of leftovers but I still wonder about that) after we had BOTH just had our babies....I had been so stressed that day worrying about what to cook and going through the whole post partum stuff. And then you just show up with dinner...

Then I remember (Okay I'm crying now, it must be my emotional time of the month) when you called me to tell me you were moving....and and then how you called me soon after you moved to Utah and how we never stopped talking, even now when we barely have time for calls we still email. And somehow we keep ending up in Utah once a year for our annual barb-q.

I also love how you say "Hello," when I call. You would think I was the most important person in the world. I know you probably do that with all your friends and I bet they appreciate this as much as I do.... I love you Hil....You are a true blessing.

Where do I start?

I think my first memory of you was when your house wasn't quite done and I was walking around inside snooping (like all good neighbors should) and you and Bill pulled up. I was dressed in my grubbies because, well, I am always dressed in my grubbies and I thought "She is going to think I am a total freak and never talk to me again. I have never been so glad to be wrong.

I remember when we were first hanging out that we would spend hours at each others homes. Why don't we do that anymore? Come on down!

I remember when you and Bill spoke in Sacrament meeting and you did that darling poem and it included my dd's. I bawled. I was so grateful to have you as a friend. I love you Hil!

My first memory of you is your first memory of me. Did that make sense? :) Anyway, I remember seeing you in the hall at church... I think you were skipping Sunday School if I remember correctly. ;) LOL! So was I. :) Anywho, and i thought you were just beautiful and I wanted to get to know you more. Then when I talked to you, you were so sweet and funny which made me really excited to get to know you more. Then you said you were moving. :( So, off you went right when i was getting to know you. Then we lost touch and now through blogging here we are...back in touch. :) Isn't blogging just great?! I know that if you still lived here that we wold be great friends.

Well I have a million sweet comments I could leave about you about how thoughtful you are like how you are always giving everything to everyone etc. but obviously everyone in the world already knows that about you so... I thought I would share a few funny, i hope not embarrassing memories with everyone...

I remember getting in huge trouble with you and Chris hiding from aunto Georgia when she came all the way from Salina to pick him up and getting into huge trouble.

I remember playing school and library and playing Barbies the kissy way!!!

I remember when you would let your annoying little sister tag along to have sleep overs at Nicole's house and having to lay in our sleeping bags to avoid the "Bug Lady!"

I remember when you would make cookie dough and bring it over to Valerie Mason's house when we were jumping on the tramp and play that you were our Nanny.

I remember riding with you to Karen's Corner to get penny candy.

I remember the year you revealed to me about Santa Clause because I had asked for a Tank Top and I was so glad he brought me one!!!

This is the best though because this is getting long.. I will never forget laying in bed with you at night and getting into trouble because we were laughing and talking. I remember sucking air and making ourselves burp by patting each other on the back. The next days gas was horrible!!
Thanks for all the good times!!

My first memory of you is when the ward split and I was brand new. You came up and invited me to the picnic after. I always thought that was really sweet.

I remember we had just moved in and you were teaching the lesson in RS and you said "If my water breaks while I'm up here teaching, what happens here stays in here!" And I remember thinking that you couldn't possibly only be a month ahead of me with you due date... you were so tiny! I thought for sure you were like 5 months pregnant!

Also I think you are such a sweetie to everyone, you are so thoughtful and kind to others and make everyone feel like their your friend!

I remember the first time you came over to VT me you were all worried about having to bring your kids (which did not bother me at all!) and I was all stressed about having all my laundry hainging ot the railing to dry. (Iusually use my clothes line out side but it was snowing that day) How embarrassing! There was so much that I couldn't possibly move it anywhere else, so I just left it and you didn't care, all you said was how good it made my house smell.

I've never worried about having clothes hainging there since because you helped me realize it just wasn't that big of a deal.

Thanks for being such a great friend.

One extremely fun memory I have with you is Karen's Surprise party at your house. I almost let to go home and get to packing when you roped me into playing Pictionary (which I usually avoid at all costs). We had so much fun trying to draw some of the things you and Stephanie came up with (some kind of dirty, I must admit). I remember I got Barrack Obama, I mean really, who could draw that!?!? But with your help I did AND my team even guess right. Fun times!

(PS: It is okay with me that you saw me out your window. At least you weren't spying, I love to just look out my window and see what's going on!)

Oh Hil, I have a few from the kids...they're so cute!! I just love every single one of them!!

So, memory number one... the first day I ever met the kids (and the entire family of course, except for you because you were sick :'(... jordan's farewell) Lana was so sweet to me!! She just became my best friend right off the bat! She was all about playing with all of the cousins and showing me the jack in the box..such a cute little girl!!

Memory 2: I guess it's not really a memory, just more of an observation. Rylee is such a mature girl for her age!! She is so loving to all of her brothers and sisters and cousins! I remember wanting to hear her sing, but she wasn't having it! Too bad! :(

Memory 3: When I stayed at your house conference weekend, I got sick, but little Hayden just followed me everywhere and even sat on my lap for a snuggle and Mickey Mouse show!! :)

Memory 4: Little miss Kate giving "LOVES" to Uncle Jordan.. so cute!

Memory 5: Meeting you!!! It was so fun! You were so sweet, and made me feel like I was already a part of the family! It was awesome!! Thanks for always helping me feel welcome!

Memory 6: Bill has to have a memory too right!! The rest of you do!! My memory of Bill is him painting your room and still being so patient when Hayden wanted to come and see what he was doing!!

I think my favorite as of right now is Lana doing a puzzle with me at your surprise party. I was taking a little bit of a break and she goes "HELP ME ASHLEY! TAKE THIS PIECE AND PUT IT HERE!" such a riot.. as you can see, I just love your family!! You are the best!

Since I have never met you in person, here is my first memory of you: (Background) My first year living here has been difficult. I went from a place where I had lots of friends and fun and knew the area, to a place where it is harder to acclimate, and I really haven't met anyone that I really "clicked with". I feel more lonely here than I have-well, ever.

One day I just posted a comment on your blog about a recipe, and you commented back! (Blog currency, I once read-it was so cool). Then you kept commenting, and I felt like someone (although it was six thousand miles away) really cared about me! It was an awesome feeling :). I went to bed that evening with a content heart.

Don't get me wrong-I have many people who care about me, but I have not been able to keep up with them because of the time difference/long distance rates, etc. But you are someone who is so fun and uplifting, and I can easily keep in contact with you.

I do hope that we can meet someday-you are a blessing :)

Okay, I may just go with this without spell checking...my eyes are teary, contacts are floating, etc.....
