Like Mother, Like Daughter

So, where do you think she could have learned the love of the phone? Hmmmm...I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count!

Hey, this is fun! I like the "Barbie Girl" ringtone. But it is even more fun to stick the sound in my mouth and only hear the song when I open my mouth! What a great trick! If I keep my mouth closed, my mom won't hear the song and know I am playing with this magical thing!

Wow, I almost have this thing figured out! How do I text my buddy, Squishy, down the street? I can't ask my mom because she has no idea how to text! Those of us in this younger generation are so much cooler!

Oh, shoot. I am officially busted! What should I do? Do you think my mom will care?

Maybe if I just look sweet and innocent, Mom won't notice! Oh, wait. She must not be mad. She is sitting here taking pictures of me.

THAT'S MY GIRL!!!

Hi! I am trying your crock pot recipe today. Yea! Now I can spend some play time with the kids while dinner manages itself. Just wanted to know if more liquid needs to be added? Water? Broth? Also, just wondering if frequent crock pot users have the really cool silver cookers...or are still using the flowery wedding gift one I am using from 10 years ago :(. Maybe if I start using it more, I can justify an updated one. Thanks for the recipe!

Andrea,

Nope, no more liquid needed. You can double the recipe if you want, or 1 1/2 it. It just depends on how much liquid you want. You really don't need a ton in there. And you don't need a lot to drizzle over the rice. It has quite a bit of flavor as is. Let me know if it turns out for you!

Yes, I am still using my same flowery, very lovely wedding gift crock pot!

SO cute...Squishy would have never gotten the text because her mom is so prozaic that she doesn't even OWN a cell phone! Poor Squishy.

She is DARLING! I love her "BUSTED" face! LOVE IT!!!

Andrea...I am still using my wedding gift crock-pot and I cook in it at least 3 times a week. But there aren't any flowers, just grapes and vines.

My mom was married 33 years ago...she still uses her wedding gift crock-pot. I swear those things don't die.

speaking of crock-pots. They are the best investment a woman/mother/wife can make. They never (or seldom) die, I've had my first one since our wedding 21 years ago. Bought a new, bigger one a couple of years ago, and now I can make beans and meat at the same time. Your hands are freed for hours. What a great invention.
Hil, seriously, you have to get on texting. It is the BEST! Especially when you don't really want to talk to the person, you just send a quick text. Cute pictures of Kate.

Family LOVED it for dinner (a rarity at this house!) Whoopee! Darn, ugly crock pot...it just might sit a little too close to the counter edge and...(TBD). Hilary, I lived in Houston from age 2 until graduation. Very nice people (many, many people) but the HEAT-ugh. My dad still lives there, near Katy. I remember Spring-near I-45? BTW, BP's are o.k.-just got the periods back so maybe hormones will get back to normal and I can stop the meds. I am just praying about it :)

Andrea,
I am so glad they like the dinner!

I can relate about the Houston heat, but that didn't bother me as much as the gigantic BUGS! Oh, I hate bugs! The flying cockroaches are the worst! Now, I can't eat pecan pie because I think the pecans on top look like roaches. Ick! (Hope I didn't just ruin pecan pies for you!)

About the B.P.- I will pray for you. Good luck!

Oh! Don't get me started. I am terrified of big bugs. That is a whole new definition of big roaches. I had forgotten about them-don't miss them.
